Since 2023
A New Chapter for an Old Friend
For decades, travelers on US Highway 12 have known this spot in Watauga — a small town on the northern edge of South Dakota where the grassland runs unbroken to the horizon. In 2023, our family took over the inn with a simple plan: keep everything guests loved, and make everything else better.
We refreshed all ten rooms — each with its own private bathroom and TV — upgraded the Wi-Fi, and kept the one thing no renovation can buy: genuine prairie hospitality.
Today the inn hosts antelope hunters chasing first light on the Grand River Grassland, families gathering from three states, and road-trippers who planned to stay one night and lingered for the sunset.
